Currently Craving: The Beau Bag

I am currently craving (read: obsessed and desperate) for the Kate Spade 2 ParkAvenue Beau Bag. Since first stumbling upon this bag while browsing the website, I have seen it pop up on the blogs I read and on Instagram. It just so happens this bag popped up right when I was leaning towards purchasing a new fall bag. Well played, Kate Spade, well played.

With its size and structured shape, it is the perfect fall bag that will transition really well into the winter months. Now I only have to decide what color. (If you are at all wondering I am leaning towards wither the black or the black and tan version.)

If the Kate Spade bag isn’t quite your style or a little too steep for your wallets, a lot of brands have been coming out with a structured tote. (I even spied a structured tote on the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target preview page for $50! I am pretty much insanely excited for this whole collection!)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Weekend Rewind: Relaxing in DC

Well, it’s Monday again. With another long week ahead, what better way is there to start it off than to take a look at this past weekend.

Saturday:

Another Saturday morning meant another trip to the Farmers’ Market. I really love having this market so close to our apartment. I started the day with a vanilla chai from Wydown. (The coffee art from the photo below is my husband’s mocha) This Saturday was more of a splurge day than a “stocking up” trip. I bought some homemade pickles, fresh goat cheese, and a few pastries for breakfast.  And of course, my weekly flowers, as well. (The pickles, by the way, were a huge splurge. They are $10 a jar. But, so amazing!! I have been walking around my house, snacking on them ever since. Super attractive, I know.)

Saturday afternoon was spent down in the SE at Barracks Row. We attended a BBQ at my husband’s work. Rather than fill up there, we decided to hold off and have dinner at one of the many restaurants on 8th. We selected Matchbox and it was delicious. We split an ahi-tuna salad to start, I selected a roast chicken dish, and the husband selected a crab cake sandwich.

We ended the night watching Property Brothers and eating fro-yo. (Yup, we are super cool people.)

Sunday:

Our Sunday started bright and early at 7:00 a.m. I know, that is crazy early for a Sunday but we have wanted to try the new Ted’s Bulletin on 14th and did not want to wait over two hours for a table. So we decided to beat the brunch crowd and get up and out of the house for breakfast. The place was amazing. The décor and structure of the building is perfect. We decided to sit at the old-school diner countertop. Our experience consisted of bottomless coffee, an old Shirley Temple movie on the TV, and a homemade poptart. Seriously, this might just become our “go-to” Sunday spot.

After breakfast, we took our dog for a nice long walk and spent the rest of the day hanging around the house, taking care of the usual Sunday tasks.

It might not be the most thrilling weekend, but it was a great one nevertheless. I hope everyone had a great weekend as well. I am already looking forward to the next one.

Have a great week!

Introducing the Friday Find

Just a quick post as I am sure we all have important Friday night plans. (I have a date with a bottle of wine and a good book in about 15 minutes and I cannot be late.) I wanted to introduce one last brand new blog feature this week … the Friday Find. Every Friday, I will share a new website, recipe, brand, etcetera that I have discovered during the week.

This week I have been addicted to Poshmark. This is a website as well as an app on the IPhone that allows you to create a virtual closet of items you wish to sell. You can create this closet completely using your phone. You are also able to shop the closets of others. Poshmark takes care of the shipping and coordinating payment. I have already made $120 by selling items I had cleaned out of my closet!

Now, I am not saying this app is perfect. Some of the other seller/shoppers can be ridiculous. I am not a fan of the general predilection for the use of endearments such as “hun.” I am also not a fan of the concept of “trading” on the site as it is not backed by Poshmark and there is no guarantee the other person will ship their item.

But, overlooking the negatives, I am a big fan of this app. If you decide to join or are already a member, feel free to shop my closet at “DaniCS.”

Now it is time for me to depart. This wine isn’t going to drink itself.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Currently Craving: September 4th, 2013

"Currently Craving" is a new feature of the blog. It will consist of a quick post concerning what I can't get enough of each week. It might be about fashion, food, or even a new book. Really, anything I feel like.

All I can seem to think about this week is getting my hands on a new pair of nude wedges for the fall and anything pumpkin flavored.

I have selected a few options below. (Collage created on Polyvore)

I love the Sole Society option and they are at such a great price point. The only thing that makes me hesitate is the cutout detail on each side. I love it now but when it gets cooler, I’m not sure. The Banana Republic ones are a great color but I wonder if I could find them on sale. Hmmm… The See by Chloe pair is, of course, amazing but that is a really steep price for my budget. Decisions, Decisions

I also am addicted to pumpkin flavored everything! Today I tried a soy Chai latte with pumpkin spice from Starbucks. Amazing!!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far!
